• Reducing Insulin Resistance

Why is it important for type 2 diabetics to focus on reducing insulin resistance rather
than just controlling blood sugar levels?

Modern doctors like Dr. Robert Lustig of UCSF say that controlling blood sugar amounts
to just management of symptoms rather than addressing the root cause of the symptoms.

While the management of blood sugar helps to prevent the damage done by excess blood sugar, it fails to take into consideration the damage done by insulin.

Moreover, not addressing the root cause leads to progression of the disease. This is the
reason why most diabetics have to keep increasing the dosage of their diabetes medicines year after year.

The reason for high blood sugar among type 2 diabetes patients is insulin resistance, not
lack of sufficient insulin in the body.

If insulin resistance is cured, the insulin produced by the body can easily manage the
blood sugar and keep it within limits.

Hence if you can improve insulin sensitivity by reducing insulin resistance, the diabetes
of most type 2 diabetics is as good as cured.

When we manage insulin resistance, we prevent not only hyperglycemia but hyperinsulinemia too. Hence it more important to manage insulin resistance than blood
    sugar.
