  • DOS BBS Updates!

    Having been 'round the horn with DOS 6.22 + Proxmox + Networking, I
    finally resigned myself to trying VirtualBox w/FreeDOS 1.3, MSCLIENT w/
    TCP/IP and File Sharing...

    (ProxMox problem might be unique to my setup, but essentially even
    through I was getting an IP Address from DHCP, the device wasn't showing
    on the network and mTCP gave me a notice that the DHCP server wasn't
    honoring my machine name -- all the forum fix suggestions just didn't
    work).

    But MSCLIENT -- it just... works on Vbox w/FreeDOS, ha. I don't get a
    machine name assigned, but I can access via IP, unlike mTCP.

    Maybe I'll try some other Proxmox settings, but hoping I can run RLFOSSIL
    and Iniquity with the remaining conventional memory on Vbox. I've got a
    Win7 machine handling the File Sharing parts.

    Also, my new Pi 4 arrived today, so will still give Dosbian a go this
    weekend!

    If mTCP is loading, but doesn't appear to be playing ball, I'd hazard a guess the interrupt vector is wrong. But I also don't have any experience with proxmox.
