As long as people get regular help they should get housing. People untreated or not monitored is not exactly a good idea.

While I believe they do need to do something, possibly drastic, for those
who have shown themselves to be of potential harm to the general populace,
I read some about this and it sounds like it goes too far. Many people who have a clinically-defined "mental illness" lead fairly normal and
non-violent lives. I see no need to bother them.
