Awesome news - is this your first Amiga???
I suggest Chris Edwards youtube channel if you ever need to repair anything - he's covered every model and has dozens and dozens of repair, and other, info videos...
Open her up and remove the battery if it's not already been done.done by seller
They leak acid all over the mb and destroy them.the amimi4 is all good! :D
Do a youtube search for cleaning the board up.
e able to think of what to use it
for..

Adrian Black (Adrian's Digital Basement) and Jan Beta are good too!
Amiga is the darling of retro computing, so many good content and resources out there!
Adrian recently did a really nice callout to 2oFB in one of his 286 videos. :P I was st0ked and still get callers/users from it.

Congratulations!thanks m8! <3
Reach out in FSX_RETRO if you ever want help!
Enjoy this magical time, where you get your first Amiga, and you think you'll be happy with just one Amiga. :P
I still need to get my CD32 going again, get a new case for my A500,
make new KS ROMs for my A1200...... The fun never ends!
Cheers,

Kind of weird, they were kinda not popular here, although they had
their one eyed fanboys. A little like AppleIIs they had their own religion :P I could probably count on one hand the number I actually
saw out in the wild...

Lucky lucky.
In college, most everyone who wasn't in CS got a Mac Plus on one ofyooooooo sick pc compatibles!! <3
those horrendous, Apple Credit cards with the 24% APR.
CS geeks had cobbled together ATs and the odd 386, using Procomm to connect to big iron and Turbo C or MS C to compile locally.
I had an XT case with an AT motherboard bought at a swap meet. Soldered
in fsaster clock crystal. Most of the stand-offs didn't line up, so the motherboard was secured to the case with one screw and pieces of styrofoam. An RLL drive that sounded like a bathroom fan, keyboard port didn't quite line up, and once in a while you had to jiggle the power switch to get it to come on.
I only knew one Amiga user, come to think of it didn't even know they
had a simple compiler for sudent use!

Having watched him 'complain' about the fact that it 204beers doesn't
look quite right on his XT / procomm terminal is yet another reason why
I keep my bbs fairly compatible. I always try to make sure that my board doesn't look crappy, but it does at least work 100% on a retro PC. I
can't say I've tried it using a real terminal like Procomm but I dare
say it should work there too. It definetly works on Michael Brutman's mTelnet.
If you can, I'd recommend you have a 'compatible' version of 204beers,
and I appreciate you for enabling UTF8 so that mTelnet works, there are
a few other enhancements you can make to your board to make it have a compatible mode. BBSes are retro things, therefore I always think that they should stay retro, for example, big screen 120xwhatever doesn't
work with a DOS computer, therefore I don't consider those a true BBS. 20forbeers does rock, and I'm glad that Adrian showed off a really good example of a BBS. Shame it couldn't work 100% for him, but still, it is
a great BBS!

I've thought about two options for legacy hardware; one is just having
an ASCII/light ANSi version of 2oFB - but it wouldn't be all of what
the main board is. Another idea was to have STOCK BBS softwares all
under one 2oFB legacy-friendly matrix login; Telegard, Searchlight,
CBBS, Obv/2, etc etc etc - with a local FTN so all the message areas
were all 'networked' (locally).
Yet continually disappoints for the same old fashioned reasons..
