  • Linux/Mac Xfer from BBS - how?

    Okay, for those of you coding your own BBSes ... before I waste days
    coding - I tried to gateway (currect socket, create process, calling
    xmodem send - pipes routed to and from current socket) ... with
    SyncTerm it starts the download (X, Y or Z) but gets about 1kb or more
    in, then errors out.

    I read (with out examples) that it possible to call said sx, sy, sb, sz
    and pass the live socket handle - however, --help does not show how...
    anyone done this? Or can skim the C code and shed how?

    I do not want to code Z (X and Y should take me 5 minutes - done
    before), but Z you have to put your right hand on the left side of the keyboard, remember octal, type, and see if you get the ZInit etc
    correct. And with TCP, YModem or XModem 64k should send files smoothly
    (near FTP speeds)... but, SyncTerm does not support XModem/FI 8kb or
    64k :-(

    I have not tried -- I only use zmodem via NetRunner since that works fine -
    it is the only protocol I have enabled on my BBS for now.

    I fiddled around with various ymodems, but all I tried required the socket handle passed to it, and despite what the docs say, that % parameter
    (can't recall which param it's supposed to be) sends nothing to ymodem, at least on Linux/32. I've just got zmodem and that keeps most the natives happy.
