    Gregory,

You claim there's "no such thing as 'The American People'," as though a
nation of 330 million strong, with a Constitution, a republic, and a vote, somehow doesn't count as a unified voice.

330 million, If you say so.

During the last Presidential elections Trump got 77,303,568 votes.
That's less than 25% of 330 million and not even 50% of the popular vote.

To me it seems that "The American People" are hardly unified but rather dramatically divided.

    \%/@rd

    Ward,

You're right on one count America is divided. But that's nothing new. It's the tension between liberty and control, freedom and regulation, tradition and transformation. Some call it division; I call it democracy in motion.

As for Trump's 77 million? That's the second-highest presidential vote count in history second only to Biden in the same race. Not bad for someone who's supposedly so divisive.

You're counting heads; I'm watching hearts and hands move millions of Americans who show up, speak out, and refuse to be silenced.

The American People aren't a monolith. We're not supposed to be. We're supposed to argue, disagree, and push hard that's the beauty of it. I'll take that any
day over the illusion of unity under the thumb of quiet compliance.

That's a hollow comparison. The population in the USA is growing so it would rather seem odd that total voting numbers go down ... there have been voting rights for women, voting rights for certain minorities, the massive influx of South Vietnamese refugess in the 70-ies...the number of eligible voters steadily increased.

Numbers and statistics can be used to prove anything.

    Awesome, I'm glad.. Seriously.
It's actually refreshing to read that this is the case.

I'm all in for finding common ground, maybe we can too.

Just because I consider myself to be an Ultra-Conservative does not mean that I'm a bad guy, and believe -me- you would want someone w/ my Conservative ideals in a gun-fight. Libs don't own guns - they are icky.
All of my good friends are Trump Supporters, where We are like blood-bothers. Standing as One.

What kind of friends can you even have if you don't agree on the two things people fight about the most - politics and religion?

This isn't friendship - it's coexistence. Shame on you, Ward. You shouldn't be involved in making any serious decisions.

You cannot be a leader by all means.

Because there is so much which unites us, rather than devides us. Life is too short to argue your time away ... Bjorn knows, Michiel knows, I know, Janis' husband knows, Clay Tannacore one day knew and you, sir, haven't got a clue.

You cannot be a leader by all means.

So a ZC is a leader? That's a new-one. On which planet have you been hiding?

I'm not sure why you didn't exclude R50 from Z2 based on this fact alone.
It's time to delist R50 from the nodelist, where 95% of the population are NAZIs. Don't you agree?

So, when no common values are shared, this isn't friendship - it's co-existence. =)

    Aristotle:
"Perfect friendship is the friendship of men who are good, and alike in virtue: they wish well to each other for the sake of the other."
Interpretation: True friendship is grounded in shared virtue (shared moral values).

Janis was never-jamais IC and at some point at the time of the Fidonews-coup was the head-gangster of the Star-system. That's now all water under the bridge.
