The latest release files are here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/fmail/files/FMail/2.3/
They are from 2024, which isn't that old, considering other Fido
software! ;-)
There are a few Beta releases about a month older, here: http://www.vlzn.nl/fmail/files/
(A real release from that beta is a bit overdue)

If you are on Windows or Linux, I think FMail is a great choice! ;-)

I am on a Pi so guessing it won't work for me. I do have a laptop that I don't
use so could stick Linux on it

It works on a Pi. See Tommi's answer to you in Januari this year! ;-)

Yes, compiles and runs ok on Pi. I'm on RPI3B+ now with Debian Trixie.

Now I remember why I forgot. I am solely CLI on all my Pi. Maybe I
will buy a Pi and do it on it

Ah you are teasing me :) Where can I find the source that compiles :)
