Reading the ingredients listing, this made me curious. Why does it call
for self rising flour (which has baking powder in it, as well as salt), baking powder and baking soda? It sounds like too much leavening. I know you just posted this as is from a cook book, but are other recipies, especially those from baked goods in this cook book heavy on the
leavening? Just curious,
I got this recipe from a cooking blog. So far this is the only recipe from that blog that calls for self-rising flour. I asked that blogger
and will follow up when and if they answer.
OK. It'll be interesting to see what the reply is. Could be, the blogger doesn't even know, just copied the recipe from somewhere.
