I've done that four times in my life and each time I found a much
better job.
I don't care much for it as a condiment. But it's OK as an ingredient.
If I'm doin g ketchup I get the Red Gold brand as it's the best I've found. They also do a Sriracha Ketchup in a joint venture with Huy Fong (the Rooster Sauce people)
I like Red Gold. I use their sloppy joe sauce and their diced tomatoes
in chili when I make it.
For my money Red Gold is the best of canned tomatoes. I once hd someone
give me some "Muir Glen Organic" stuff. So, I did a blind taste test
uning the Muir Glen and Red Gold and had the donor of the Muir Glen rate
each. He was amazed when he selected the R.G.
IIRC I used this recipe but did not do the tomatoes w/chilies noted in
the recipe as there was no Muir Glen equivalent. Bv)= It was still
quite nice.
