Not sure when you go on there, but it's usually pretty damn active when I ge home from work in the afternoon.
I guess it depends on the channels you chat in. The IRC channels I used to chat in (around 1995-2000 or so) used to be very active, but now, very few people are in there.. Some of the channels aren't even around anymore.
