Radio amateurs in the tiny (less than 500 square miles) European principality of Andorra now have two new bands plus an increase in power on 6 meters. The changes followed requests from its IARU member society, URA[1].
Andorra returns to 60 meters under a new allocation of 5351.5-5366.5 kHz with a maximum power of 15 W EIRP, CW and USB, per consensus reached at World Radiocommunication Conference 2015 (WRC-15). Temporary for now, the allocation will become permanent starting with 2017.Andorra's previous 60 meter allocation was withdrawn last fall after WRC-15.
A new 4 meter allocation of 70.0-70.2 MHz has been granted to Andorran hams on a non-interference basis with a maximum power of 10 W, all modes.
Andorran authorities also authorized a power increase of up to 600 W. - Thanks to Paul Gaskell, G4MWO, of The 5 MHz Newsletter and URA, via Southgate Amateur Radio News
