Please delete my account over there! You're flooding my inbox with illegal login attempts. I never asked for this shit. Delete anything that has to do with havenmannor.synchronetbbs

why dont you email the operator instead of posting it on a public forum.
are you sure whatever bbs marisag gave you isnt just being attacked because it's on the internet and that's what happens?
Thanks. That is exactly what was happening. Aparently he would rather not know about these attemptes to hack his server... :(

the BBS, so they're not going to get in. So I don't think I'd want my email account to get bombarded with those hack attempts.

Mro is right, we all get hack attempts, best way to avoid them is use non standard ports and a good firewall.
I'm not sure I want to set up non-standard ports, as that tends to result in fewer real users using the system. It seems not many users will change the port for a particular BBS in their configuration.

I feel the same way. I just install fail2ban and let their invalid password attempts block their IP's...

I cannot remember for sure who it was now but, seeing as I have not read
any posts of that nature (other than mine), I am guessing he is not
around. :)

i use peerblock with a custom list and then i have a bbs capcha, which blocks people that dont solve the capcha. if it's a scanner and they disconnect, that ip is blocked too. still, there is an unlimited
amount of scanners and attackers.

So a simple mathematics question is asked for before they are allowed in?
