♥9g>♥5 Things sure have evolved since those days. This just reminded me a story:♥0
♥9g>♥5 ♥0
♥9g>♥5 The first caller on my first BBS (running WWIV) when I was running at 300♥0
♥9g>♥5 baud was a complete disaster. Even back then before I knew of ANSI art♥0 ♥9g>♥5 scene, I drew a huge elaborate welcome ANSI and apparently it took like 15♥0
♥9g>♥5 minutes to get across at 300 baud! LOL I had no common sense when it came♥0
♥9g>♥5 to usability back then.♥0
♥9g>♥5 ♥0
♥9g>♥5 Eventually I had to take it down because people would just hang up before♥0
♥9g>♥5 logging in.♥0
That's funny.. :)
My first BBS was running on an Apple //c using Apple-Net software. Green screens only - no color. Even when I went to a 286-12 back in the mid-late 80s, EGA was the video standard pre VGA. Just having any color back then was a
treat!
WWIV always used the heart codes in the editor. I'm assuming I could use pipes
as well, since I see all the ANSI messages here with no problem.
I was a huge fan of the old "WWIVnet ANSI Art Gallery" which had lots of those great ANSIs. I can't draw worth a darn but do appreciate good artwork.
