• Cannot get Netmail to work

From Knight Shadow@46:1/700 to All on Sun Aug 9 23:48:10 2026
So I have been trying to get Agoranet to work for quite a while now and so far just can't seem to make it happen. I see Mystic connect to the echonet, but nothing is sent or received.

On the Netmail side of things, I send an Areafix with %LIST (I've also tried other commands like trying to add echoes but nothing happens), and I see that it gets sent, but nothing ever comes back.

I have both fsxNet and ZeroNet setup, subscribed to bases, and messages flowing forward and back. I have compared those setups with the one for Agora and I'm doing things the same way (as far as I can tell).

To test netmail, I did an Areafix to both of them with %LIST and both of them responded back to me.

Any ideas what might be going on with my connection to Agora? Could my password be different from what I have setup and what is setup on the Agora end? I have double and triple checked that my password is what I sent in the email. I am using the same password for BinkP, PKT, FIX, and TIC.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks! |08[|07K|08N1GHT|07S|08HAD0W]

Have you gotten ahold of your uplink (I'm going to assume it's Andrew, since I don't have any of your information here)?

He runs two systems. When he emails you the information, he gives you the port to connect to. Are you connecting to the right port (probably 24555)?

Don't let it drive you nuts, bud. There is always the chance that it is not /your/ config that's wrong, and something in your uplinks routing was possibly typo'd. Getting ahold of him will most definitely give you the answers you're looking for!

    Regards,
    Nick

Sorry ignore my last message, I made a mistake and reflexively hit cntrl-Z to undo and that is the combo to send the message (facepalm).

So, yes that port is correct, and thanks for the advice. I think Andrew was also on our email thread so I think I have his email address. I'll shoot him a message just to doublecheck settings.

    Thanks again!

That's the best way to go about it. It's most definitely something between your two systems that probably doesn't match. Something as easy as you even mentioned in the email, is what I was specifically looking at from your application. ;)

I can also confirm I've seen your email to him, since you CC'd me from the original thread.
